A Cherryville man accused of molesting little girls who fled while out on bond awaiting trial has been apprehended in Washington state.  Ronald Lee Burns, who had been living under an assumed name there, was arrested after detectives begn investigating new allegations of a child sex offense involving Burns.

Hurricane Nicole became the first Atlantic hurricane to make landfall in November since the 1980s when it came ashore just south of Vero Beach, Florida, at 3 AM Thursday (Nov. 10th).  Now downgraded to a tropical storm, it's headed our way.  The Lincolnton Veterans Day Parade has been canceled.  The ceremony honoring the Veteran of the Year will now be held at the American Legion building at 11 AM.
