LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Austin Lineberger, a senior at Lincoln Charter School, signed his National Letter of Intent to play golf for Montreat College starting this fall.

He has started all four years at Lincoln Charter being named All Conference in 2021, 2022, 2023 and looks to be 2024 as it stands now.

Austin currently plays the National Junior Golf Association tour where he finished 2nd in points in 2022 and 7th in 2023.

He has qualified for the National Cup and All-Star Cup Tournaments and has tournament finishes of:

• One win at Rock Barn
• Two 2nd place finishes at Mountain Glenn and West Port
• Four 3rd place finishes at Glenn Oaks, Woodbridge, Lincolnton and Olde Sycamore
• And he has numerous Top 5 and Top 10 Finishes to his credit

Montreat College is located outside of Asheville. The Cavaliers are a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).  They are also a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), primarily competing as an independent in the South Region of the Division II level.
